Terms and Conditions

1. Entry Requirements
 

• Submit your entry at anca.com/Tool-Of-The-Year/2025.
• Provide: full name, company name, email, and photo of your entry.
• Only one entry per branch/unit is allowed. Multiple entries from the same branch/unit will be disqualified. 
• Participants must be 18 years or older and ANCA customers.
• Tools must be uncoated and ground on an ANCA machine.
• All entries must be free from NDAs and have company approval to participate.
• You may enter one or both categories: #MadeonANCA (physical tool) or Virtual Tool (designed with ANCA software)

 
2. Social Media Requirements
 

• Post your tool image using #ANCATooloftheYear2025
• Follow ANCA’s Facebook page 
• ​Social media entry period: 26 May – 31 July (AEST).
• Like-based voting runs from 4 – 8 August (AEST).

 
3. Submission Guidelines
 

• Submit a photo of your tool designed in CIM3D to verify it was ground on an ANCA machine or designed in ANCA software.
• Use ToolRoom RN32 or later, or CIM3D V8.0 or later
• Free 3-month trials are available—contact your local ANCA branch.

 
4. Judging and Finalists

• Finalists announced 11 August (AEST).
• Finalists are chosen by:
  • 50% public votes (likes on ANCA’s Facebook post)
  • 50% ANCA judging panel
• Bonus pick: ANCA co-founder Pat Boland will select one extra #MadeonANCA entry based on accuracy and craftsmanship.
• Finalists must mail their physical tool within 10 days of notification. If unreachable after 2 days, an alternate will be chosen. 
• Entry costs are the entrant’s responsibility. ANCA covers shipping costs for finalist tools sent to ANCA Europe.

 
5. Judging Criteria

#MadeonANCA

• Surface finish quality (Ra value on flute/gash).
• Accuracy to nominal tolerance (e.g. ±0.010mm).
• Tightest tolerances achieved.
• Complexity of tool geometry (number of steps, profiles).
• Material: Carbide preferred
• Must be a functional tool – include explanation of features, images, or component.

Virtual Tool Category

• Creativity and functionality
• Use of ANCA software features and flexibility
• Visual presentation

 
6. Prizes


#MadeonANCA 

Winner:
Option 1: AUD $10,000 in ANCA accessories/software + trip to ANCA (Australia or Thailand) for two (flights and 3 nights included; must be booked within 12 months).

Option 2: On-site consultation with an expert ANCA Application Engineer to optimise cycle times and boost productivity

2^nd prize: GDS Shark Collet Adaptor
3^rd prize: TYROLIT standard grinding wheel set


Virtual Tool Category

Winner: 12-month subscription to ANCA Academy for five people
2^nd prize: First fill coupon from oelheld  
3^rd prize: Blanks from PREMEX


7. Promotion and Ownership
 

• Winning companies will receive promotion across digital and print media.
• All entries become property of ANCA and may be used in promotional activities.
• Finalist tools will be kept by ANCA for exhibition at shows and offices globally.

 
8. Legal and Privacy
 

• Entrants agree to ANCA’s use of their personal information and have read ANCA’s Privacy Policy.
• ​This contest is not sponsored by Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or WeChat.
• Submissions outside the official entry period will be void.
• All entries must be original, legal, and free from infringement or offensive content.
• Entrants are responsible for securing any permissions or releases related to their entry.
• Entries may be disqualified for:
  • Incomplete information
  • Breach of rules
  • Inappropriate content
  • Submissions via third-party services
