This feature allows for the core to be compensated to its nominal value on the selected linked fluting operation for the next tool of the batch. When this feature is used, the percentage amount of compensation to its nominal value can be specified. This nominal value will depend on the type of diameter tolerance type used. The diameter tolerance options can be specified as either the ‘Absolute’ or ‘Relative’ form.
- If the upper and lower compensation limits are enabled, digitised points on the tool that are within the boundary will not be compensated on the next tool.
- If there are points that are within ‘tolerance’ but are outside the compensation limits, those digitised points will be compensated on the next tool.
- If any digitised points on the tool are outside ‘tolerance’, then tool is classified as ‘rejected’ and the next tool will not be compensated. The action it will take will depend on whether you have selected to ‘continue’ the process or ‘stop’ the machine. If stop was selected, it will only stop after a number of consecutive rejected tools which is controlled by the ‘Rejected tool limit’ parameter.
