CIMulator3D, or more commonly known as CIM3D, is ANCA’s powerful simulation software that accurately replicates the programmed tool path as it would be executed on a grinding machine. By providing advanced verification capabilities, CIM3D allows users to simulate the entire grinding process, including machine models, work holding, and accessories, while detecting collisions automatically. This ensures precision and reduces errors before transferring the program to the machine.

Used in conjunction with ToolRoom, CIM3D enables tool design and verification on a standalone PC. On the machine itself, the Integrated 3D Graphics (I3DG) window within iGrind provides quick verification of small changes made during production, offering faster turnaround for corrections. However, advanced verification features—such as wheel path analysis, collision detection, and detailed measurements—are only available with the new CIM3D Advanced version.

With the latest CIM3D V9, users can now choose between Basic and Advanced versions, depending on their needs.
