Celebrating Women in Tool and Cutter Grinding

The Female Machinist Award recognises the achievements of exceptional women in the tool and cutter grinding industry.

The Female Machinist Award is open to women of all levels of experience who are working in the tool and cutter grinding industry.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about their work, dedicated to excellence, and committed to advancing the industry as a whole.

Judging Criteria

Entries will be reviewed by a panel of industry experts. Applications will be evaluated based on:

Problem-solving skills – How you overcame challenges or obstacles during a project

Tool design – Creativity and innovation in tool development

Critical thinking – Your ability to find smart, effective solutions

The winner of the Female Machinist Award will receive a fully funded ticket to attend a trade show where ANCA is exhibiting.

Attending such a show is a great opportunity to connect with industry professionals, learn about the latest technology and innovations in the field and gain valuable insights into the industry.

During their visit, the winner will have the chance to meet with the ANCA team, including the leadership team, engineers, and product experts.

They will also have the opportunity to network with other industry professionals and attend educational seminars and workshops.

We believe that recognising and celebrating the achievements of female machinists is an important step towards promoting gender diversity and equality in the tool and cutter grinding industry.

Terms and Conditions

Eligibility:

1. The Female Machinist Award is open from May 26, 2025, until September 5, 2025.

2. The competition is open and offered only to ANCA customers, who are at least 18 years old at the time of entry.

3. Applicants must confirm that they have access to and work with ANCA machines as part of their regular job duties. The projects, innovations or achievements highlighted in their application must involve the use of ANCA machines.

4. All applicants need to be free from NDAs and must have permission from their company to enter this competition.

5. Applicants are responsible for all costs associated with their entry.

6. ANCA reserves the right to disqualify any applicant who fails to meet this requirement.

Submission Guidelines:

7. To be considered for the award, applicants must submit a completed application form along with any required supporting documentation. Download application form here.

8. The application should highlight the applicant's achievements or their exceptional problem-solving skills used to overcome challenges or obstacles during a project; tool design; and/or showcase their ability to think critically and find solutions in the tool and cutter grinding industry.

9. By applying, applicants grant ANCA permission to use their name and submitted materials for the judging process and promotional activities related to the Female Machinist Award.

10. Personal and project details will only be used for the purposes of administering the award and will not be shared with third parties without prior consent.

11. Applicants must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person, entity, or the company they work for and must have been created in a legal and safe manner.

Judging Process:

12. Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of judges selected by ANCA.

13. The judging process will be based on predetermined criteria, and this information will remain confidential.

14. The applicant that receives the highest score based on the judges’ review will be deemed the winner.

Prize:

15. The winner of the Female Machinist Award will receive a fully funded ticket to attend a trade show where ANCA is exhibiting.

16. The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other alternatives.

17. The prize is intended for the individual winner and cannot be claimed by or transferred to their respective companies or organisations.

Privacy and disqualification:

18. ANCA reserves the right to disqualify any applicant who violates the terms and conditions or provides false or misleading information.
