ANCA’s travelling steady is a very strong and accurate piece of tooling that has revolutionised grinding of long tools. The travelling steady provides the machine with an additional axis (P-axis) which keeps the tool support directly underneath the point of grinding at all times. The travelling steady eliminates errors that would be caused by tool deflections if a fixed steady or no steady were used instead.
