India’s ambition to strengthen its role in global electronics manufacturing rests on a defining principle: precision is the new currency of competitiveness. The nation is moving quickly from policy blueprints to large-scale production, with semiconductor fabs, consumer electronics facilities, and advanced component plants beginning to take shape. But infrastructure and investment alone will not secure leadership. What will truly determine success is India’s ability to embed advanced manufacturing expertise and process discipline across its value chain.
In today’s electronics landscape, the margin for error has all but disappeared. Components are shrinking, design cycles are accelerating, and global customers are demanding ever higher levels of quality. India’s Electronics & Semiconductor Momentum
Recent data underscores the scale of India’s opportunity. The country’s semiconductor market was valued at approximately US$38 billion in 2023–24 and is projected to grow to US$100–110 billion by 2030, fueled by global demand and policy incentives. Domestic electronics production has also risen sharply—from US$29 billion in FY2015 to US$101 billion in FY2023—with government targets aiming for US$300 billion by FY2025–26. Some forecasts project the semiconductor segment alone could reach US$161 billion by 2033, underscoring the transformative growth underway.

The Government of India’s decision to greenlight 10 semiconductor fabrication plants and expand the
