The Profile Insert Wizard guides operators through each programming stage, from defining the insert and cutting profile to setting the rake face, relief and grinding process. Its logical workflow reduces programming effort, making tool setup quicker and easier, including for less experienced operators.

Existing STEP models can be imported as Custom Blanks. The imported 3D geometry represents the actual incoming blank in CIM3D, providing more representative simulation data. Users can review material removal, compare the blank with the finished insert and verify the grinding process before production.

Dedicated digitising routines determine the insert position and orientation in the workholding, supporting accurate and repeatable grinding.
